Meet the Team
Operations Executives

Teagan Chow (she/her)
President
- U1 Architecture
- Surrey, BC
Meet Teagan, our President! She has been climbing for over 10 years and has competed for Team Canada in bouldering, lead and speed climbing. You might find her sending on the kilter board or flailing off a paddle dyno too many times. Aside from climbing, she also enjoys creating art and collecting things, especially stickers. As president, Teagan is leading the behind-the-scenes work of the club, but also hopes to be a familiar face at club events 🙂

Zephyr Clarke (he/him)
VP External
- U3 Jazz Performance
- Richmond, BC
Meet Zephyr, your Trumpet playing VP External! Zephyr has been climbing for a year and a half now and has been absorbed in it ever since. If he’s not climbing his favourite slab or dynoing into shoulder-y crimps, you may find him procrastinating and reading books on the Cafe Bloc benches or performing at one of the many live music venues around Montreal!

Brianna Luo (she/her)
VP Internal
- U3 Physiology
- Windsor, ON
Meet our VP Internal, Brianna! If she’s not at the climbing gym risking her life on crimpy slab, you might find her eating Ritz crackers with chopsticks or getting blown up by creepers in Minecraft. Brianna’s been at almost every Social Sunday run in the history of the climbing club; if she ever misses one without notice, check the hill up to McMed—she probably passed out on her way up.

Ben Petschulat (he/him)
Treasurer
- U4 Mathematics
- Nanaimo, BC
Ben is your treasurer for the McGill climbing club! He has been climbing consistently for about 4 years now and has recently been getting into outdoor climbing. You can usually find Ben on the kilter board, but outside of climbing, he’s probably struggling with math problems or hiking.Â

Lucas Allan (he/him)
Secretary
- U1 Economics
- New York City, USA
Lucas is excited to be the McGill Climbing Club secretary this year! He started climbing 6 years ago on boulders in NYC’s Central Park. During this time Lucas not only honed his climbing skills but also his ability to ride a bike down a busy city block while holding a crash pad. Apart from climbing, Lucas is an avid guitar player and runner.Â

Ethan Chen (he/him)
Social Media Representative
- U1 Political Science
- Vancouver, BC
Ethan is delighted to be your Media Representative for the McGill Climbing Club this year! He has been climbing for one year now, and the sport has defined his life since. For Ethan, there isn’t much that’s more fulfilling than projecting a challenging problem, befriending strangers at the gym, or just trying the absolute best he can.Â
Aside from climbing you can find Ethan listening and playing music, writing poetry, or cooking a big dinner. He can’t wait to meet you all!
Resource Executives

Ariana Tang (she/they)
1st Year Representative
- U0 Biomed and Life Sciences
- Toronto, ON
Meet Ariana, your 1st Year Rep this year! She’s currently attempting to tackle Cafe Bloc climbs to represent short kings all around the world (She’s 5’1). Ariana started climbing only about 4 months ago, and she thinks the climbs in Montreal really put Toronto’s to shame!Â
Ariana loves to draw, knit/crochet, and sing in her free time, as well as trying out all kinds of food!! It’s her first time ever really being away from home, but she has been loving it in Montreal! Ariana is super excited for life here at McGill! 🙂

Kéa Anderson (she/her)
Comp Climbing Exec
- U1 Sustainability, Science and Society
- Girdwood, Alaska
Kéa is thrilled to be the Comp Climbing Exec for the McGill Climbing Club. Her first climbing competition was actually Halloween themed, and she cared more about winning the costume comp than she did the climbing comp (She was nine). Kéa was a leopard and could barely move in her fit, but she did win best costume!
Trip Executives

Niomi Markel (she/her)
Boulder Exec
- U0 Applied Ecology
- Portland, Oregon, USA
Niomi has been climbing for two years and loves everything outdoors including bouldering, top roping, backpacking and mountaineering. When she’s not in the climbing gym or crimping brick walls around campus you can find her cooking or making bad art. If you love climbing outdoors or just want to set up a hammock at the crag come find Niomi to plan a trip!

Emiliano Altamirano (he/him)
Lead/Trad Exec
- U1 Materials Engineering
- Mexico City, Mexico
Welcome Emiliano to the team as our Lead and Trad exec! Emiliano started climbing about two years ago and recently, he competed in multiple competitions in both Lead and Boulder. Emiliano really loves mountain biking and hiking during his free time, and especially listening to salsa. He loves to eat pasta, and is always down for some mountaineering and carb loading. Â
