Meet the Team
Operations Executives

Zephyr Clarke (he/him)
President
- U4 Jazz Performance
- Richmond, BC
Meet Zephyr, our President! Zephyr started climbing 3 years ago and has loved it ever since. He’s tried all kinds of climbing disciplines but has recently fell in love with outdoor sport climbing. He also loves going to all the competitions around Montreal. His favourite pre climbing meal is butter on sourdough bread with a bowl of Greek yogurt.

Sophia Iligan (she/her)
VP External
- Year 1 Law
- Philippines
Sophia is thrilled to be your VP External! She started climbing in 2021 on and off due to injuries (mostly unrelated to climbing). Besides touching rocks, Sophia love cooking and doing anything to keep my mind and body flowing such as yoga and meditating. Fun fact: She first learned how to lead outdoors in Spanish (her climbing partner didn’t speak English then) so it was extra challenging!

Ethan Chen (he/him)
VP Internal
- U2 Poli Sci
- Vancouver, BC
Ethan is delighted to be your VP Internal for the McGill Climbing Club this year! He has been climbing for two years now, and seriously enjoys both the comp scene in Montreal and the challenge of outdoor bouldering at his home crag of Squamish, BC.
Aside from climbing you can find Ethan listening and playing music, writing poetry, or cooking a big dinner. He can’t wait to meet you all!

Jack Wang (he/him)
Treasurer
- U2 Anatomy and Cell Biology
- Montreal, QC
Jack is ecstatic to be the MCC’s resident Treasurer! He started climbing a little over two years ago and has been fully immersed in the challenges this sport presents. When he’s not touching plastic rocks, you’ll most likely find him playing board games or video games with friends.
Three random facts about him: he used to compete in speed skating, practiced cardistry in high school, and once memorized 300 digits of Pi.

Théo Desjardins
Support Exec
- U1 Occupational Therapy
- Montreal, QC
Théo started climbing 3 years ago simply because it looked like an interesting and fun sport. In his free time he likes to hang out with friends, listen to music, watch movies, and walk/bike in the city. Théo’s favourite climbing meal would have to be a baguette with a guru. Fun fact: Théo and one of his now best friends (Tristan Dumais), a really strong climber, started climbing at the same small gym at the same time without even knowing each other. It took them almost a year before they started climbing together!

Yimei Shuai
Social Media Representative
- Year 2 Psychology
- Chengdu, China
Yimei has been climbing for about half a year now and absolutely loves the sport. Besides climbing she also enjoy running, skiing, biking and anything outdoors. Yimei grew up in Chengdu, and so thinks that hot-pot is the best pre-climb meal. One fun fact about her is that her grip strength is better than her math skills.
Resource Executives

Jennifer Hang (she/her)
1st Year Representative
- 1st Year Medicine and Health sciences
- Brossard, QC
Jennifer is super excited to be your 1st Year Representative! She first climbed at 10 y/o trying to copy her big brother. Other than climbing, she used to be a student-athlete for volleyball and loves to dance (currently in UnitedGroove at McGill)! Fun fact: she has 5 siblings.

Kéa Anderson (she/her)
Comp Climbing Exec
- U2 Sustainability, Science and Society
- Girdwood, Alaska
Kéa grew up climbing competitively in Alaska, and have been climbing for 10 years. She loves skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and anything outside in the mountains. Dried mangoes (the good kind from Costco) are her ultimate outdoor climbing snack.
Trip Executives

Hasnan Aslam (he/him)
Boulder Exec
- U1 Mechanical Engineering
- Mississauga, ON / Surabaya, IN
Hasnan has been addicted to climbing for over a year now but of course got injured and couldn’t climb for 6 weeks or so. This gave Hasnan an idea of what its like to be grounded as an adult 🥀
He also claims sour patch kids can make you send your proj.

Ishan Hsu (he/him)
Sport Climbing Exec
- U1 Civil Engineering
- Washington DC
Ishan is excited to be your Sport climbing exec this year! He fondly remembers how after every competition when he was younger he, his dad, and everyone else on the team would always find the closest five guys as a celebration dinner.

Nora Roos (she/her
Speed Climbing Exec
- U2 Political Science
- North Vancouver, BC
Nora started climbing when she was seven and continued competing in boulder/lead until she was seventeen. When her local gym got a speed wall, she also started competing in speed. In addition to climbing, Nora also really like sewing and music- she started learning guitar over the summer! Her coolest moment in climbing was when she ran into Alex Honnold bouldering in Tuolumne when she was twelve.
